Beautiful hotel, old authentic pub, beautiful location in a small town opposite a beautiful church. Friendly staff, good meals, good bed, very quiet at night. Superb view from my room at the church. Very good value for money.

The deluxe queen room was beautifully presented and very well decorated with a great bathroom, so that guests had essentials. Having coffee and tea making equipment, a multi-channel TV, and a writing table was very convenient.

The staff are very accomodating. The food is excellent.
The wine per glass is very expensive at £4.65 for 175 mls. The stairwell and back door entrance area smells a bit 'fatty' as if the carpet needs to be replaced. Greasy spoon smell.

The room was clean and pleasant and the location was perfect. The food was excellent.
There was very little room to sit and eat in the bar when I was there. I ended up on a cramped table near the bar where I felt as though I was in the way! Parking was also an issue when I arrived but was eventually sorted out.

The staff were mostly very friendly
Although the cottage was very nice, we were expecting a superior room with a kingsize bed and bathrobes etc. As it was cold , the heating could have been on when for when we booked in. It was freezing! We wanted to eat in the restaurant but were told it was for restaurant meals only and we wanted bar food. I felt it should have been allowed as we were paying guests. We did state this.

Country pub . Good location. Nice room ( ascot ) Selection of real ales.
Although a nice room, rhe ascot is at the front of the hotel and has no airconditionimg On a summers evening there are tables at the front of rhe hotel directly under the bedroom window. Do not expect to get to sleep until after 11.30 because of the noise. The food is expensive £12.50 for burger and chips and £15.00 for fish and chips. Although the pub serves real ale some of the young female bar staff have clearly not been shown how to pull a pint. Some of the staff show no enthusiasm and do not offer a warm welcome upon check in. The young lady at check in did not even know what time breakfast was seved from !
